Our Story
The essence of the Low Blocker brand can be traced to every single one of us. It's the indescribable X-Factor, the drive to do what's simple, even when it isn't easy. Scoring Low Blocker: it's simple, gritty, and timeless. It's the style that never goes out-of-style. It's your favorite hoodie, your first car, your Bauer 4500 with the padding falling out. You don't love it because it's pretty. You love it because it gets the job done. There is never a doubt. It's automatic.
In 2019, after a freshman campaign with SUNY Morrisville, Darius Radziszewski took the road less-traveled by, leaving the school, ending his playing career, to return to the Jersey Hitmen, his former junior team, and become the assistant coach of former Quinnipiac captain and AHL defenseman, Dan Henningson. Radziszewski had spent two seasons playing for Henningson before making his NCAA commitment; in total the pair spent three seasons together, as player and coach, and as a coaching duo as well. Over this time, Darius had heard Dan instruct countless players to shoot Low Blocker, whether they were players he was coaching, or NHLers on the TV in the middle of a shootout. Low Blocker became a staple for any players coached by Dan Henningson. Fast forward to February 2022. Darius began posting Low Blocker goals from around the NHL every night. That's when the texts and the DMs started rolling in, people sending goals in real-time, pushing for the movement. It was then that Low Blocker Hockey was born.
We love the highlight reel goals and the innovations of the game. There's always room for more creativity in hockey.
In 2003 Pavel Datsyuk scored off his famous "Datsyukian Deke" against Marty Turco. In 2006 he did it again, this time on Tomas Vokoun. January 2010 he flipped the puck against the grain to beat Antti Niemi. A revolutionary.
2011 Patrick Kane slows to a crawl to dangle Niklas Backstrom out of the net. In 2012 he did it again, this time in Switzerland to beat Cory Schneider during the NHL lockout. The highlights took the world by storm.
Marek Malik, Tomas Hertl, William Karlsson, Mat Barzal, Matthew Tkachuk. Between-the-legs.
Mike Legg, Andrei Svechnikov, Trevor Zegras, Filip Forsberg, Kent Johnson. The "Michigan".
Every year we see something more creative than the last. But, every year we also see something familiar. Pierre-Luc Dubois buries Low Blocker and the Blue Jackets upset the Lightning in the first round. Kyle Connor beats Mike Smith Low Blocker in triple OT to sweep the Edmonton Oilers. Kuznetsov drifts in on the shootout attempt, dead controller, and buries it Low Blocker, no questions asked.
It's your go-to when all else fails. The style that never goes out-of-style. Low Blocker is automatic.
