Darius Radziszewski is a New Jersey native, growing up at the Jersey Shore before attending college at SUNY Morrisville, playing NCAA III for the Men's Ice Hockey team. Darius played a majority of his youth hockey for the Toms River Blackhawks before a brief stint with the Red Bank Generals and New Jersey Jr. Titans.
At 16-years-old, Darius played for the Jr. Titans in the MetJHL, a now-defunct junior hockey league that boasts alumni across the NCAA, AHL, KHL, and NHL. At the conclusion of his two seasons with the Jr. Titans, Darius then traveled to central Wisconsin to play for the Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings of the USPHL. After one season in Wisconsin, Darius returned to New Jersey to play for former Quinnipiac captain and AHL defenseman, Dan Henningson, for the Jersey Hitmen of the USPHL Premier. Following his age-out season as captain of the Hitmen, Darius committed to SUNY Morrisville where he went on to play for the Mustangs in the SUNYAC at the NCAA III level.
Darius remained active in coaching during his playing career, serving as a skills and powerskating coach for the Toms River Blackhawks and a plethora of summer league teams in the area. At the close of his playing career, Darius took a Player Development and Scouting role with the P.A.L. Jr. Islanders in the USPHL. Darius helped rebuild their Premier roster after a dormant season before taking on the full-time Assistant Coach role with his former coach, Dan Henningson, at the Jersey Hitmen.
In Darius's first season coaching the Hitmen, the organization went through a restructuring process in which Dan Henningson moved to AAA to coach 18U and 16U and Darius was named Head Coach of the Hitmen Premier team. Darius spearheaded the Premier team to complete the 2019/2020 season before returning as Head Coach for the 2020/2021 season that included the USPHL Hub City Event in Tampa, FL. Throughout his time with the Hitmen, Darius was able to learn under current Ice Vault COO and Hockey Director, Justin Stanlick, a disciple of Adam Oates, the NHL's leading independent skills instructor.
During the summer of 2021, Darius served as a Coach for Team White at the USA Hockey Select 17 Player Development Camp alongside Curtis Brown (NHL veteran of 736 GP) and current Augustana NCAA I Assistant Coach, Andy Boschetto. Darius also attended the Rule 1 Sports Development Camp as a Coach, leading both on-ice and off-ice development sessions.
In September of 2021, Darius accepted the Assistant Coach role with the Corpus Christi IceRays of the NAHL, where his chief responsibility was the implementation of the team's Penalty Kill, as well as the oversight of the development of the current roster players and affiliates. During his tenure with the IceRays, Darius lead the team to a top-10 ranked Penalty Kill (84.1%) and a 2nd overall Shorthanded Goals statistic (14).
The 2022/2023 season would mark Darius's return to New Jersey, this time in a new role, Director of Player Development, with the New Jersey 87's of the EHL, EHLP, and THF. Darius assumed the role of Head Coach for the 87's 18U team beginning with the 2023/2024 season.
Darius has also spent 10+ years training under the tutelage of former NHL powerskating coach and current NHL Network analyst, Robby Glantz.
Darius is a Level 4 registered USA Hockey Coach.
